My artistic practice moves between three worlds – China, where I was born and spent my youth; Japan, which shaped my twenties; and Germany, where I have lived since my thirties. This cultural interweaving defines my work, which builds a bridge between Eastern philosophy and aesthetics and Western artistic practices.

Although photography is my central medium, I expand it into spatial dimensions, developing and constructing physical image worlds from metal, plastic, and handcrafted elements. My focus lies on the tension between two-dimensionality and three-dimensionality, on shifting perspectives and transitions.

My works strive for contemporary forms of expression that weave together tradition and the present without adhering to fixed rules. I see them as a kind of translation process – an attempt to rearticulate the aesthetics of ancient China and Japan through Western methods, creating spaces where transformation and encounter can take place.
